The guild would like to produce 100 of these posters to be installed in strategic locations so that they may be seen by a large number of people. The size we want to print them in is called 6sheet and measures 47.24” x 70.87” or 1.2m x 1.8m. They cost approximately £5 each if we buy 100 of them but we need your help with this cost, even small donations go a long way. If you would like to pay for some copies and then arrange to install them yourself then email info@meaningguild.org where you can send any queries.

Barclays Bank is one of the largest financial institutions in the world and has been involved in financing the fossil fuel industry for many years. However, the bank’s involvement in this industry has come under scrutiny in recent years due to the considerable environmental damage caused by the extraction and burning of fossil fuels. Here are some key facts and sources of evidence to support this:

Financing of Fossil Fuel Industry:
According to a report by Rainforest Action Network, Barclays Bank has provided $85 billion in financing to the fossil fuel industry since the Paris Agreement was signed in 2015. This makes Barclays the sixth largest funder of fossil fuels among global banks.

Environmental Damage:
The financing provided by Barclays to the fossil fuel industry has contributed to significant environmental damage, including deforestation, oil spills, air and water pollution, and habitat destruction. This has led to negative impacts on local communities and wildlife, as well as contributing to global climate change.

We created these 7 posters in support of the “Barclays Seven” women who broke windows at the bank’s headquarters, in order to confront the power of Barclays’ public relations advertising, as well as the environmental injustices and their role as the UK and Europe’s largest fossil fuel investor.
This is a visualisation of the artwork instal by our street team. The posters can be displayed close to their offices and the offices of companies that aid them in their bad-faith advertising. We hope you can support us by donating to the costs of producing these posters.
